The fear of god blocks the peace of god

Spirit: "Let us look at the fear of God, How it obstructs your peace, how it shows up and how to overcome it. For in looking at these issues, there is much freedom and leads to the awareness of THE truth.

Consider the belief that you are a separate being, this body, alone and trying to make it in this world. Many relish this idea, that this is the extent of who they are. They seek and find many activities and objects that they believe to be pleasurable and do not want to give these up. At the same time however they are miserable and at a deep level are aware that it is their identification with the body that is bringing their suffering. Yet they are in terror of the possibility of losing their identity; THIS IS THE FEAR OF GOD, the fear of being “nobody.” This is evident in the physical realm by individuals' refusal to let go of their identity even in the face of it causing suffering and it is also reflected in many beliefs about the “afterlife.” Many believe that they will maintain their individuality after death; and this is very important here, for as they wish this and believe it, so will it be. They will maintain their individuality, rather than remember and return to their oneness with God or Source, thus perpetuating the cycle of suffering or what has been called samsara. This is the fear of god or unity with the supreme source of all; that you will lose your cherished identity, that in actuality causes your suffering. As this is being spoken, see if you can feel the fear in your body arising, allowing you to recognize how you hold this fear. Know that it is only in giving up your self created identity, that you will find the peace and freedom that you long for. Begin to pay greater attention to ways that you hold onto your identity, such as believing yourself to be your roles, your activities, and your thoughts, etc. As they come to your awareness, pause, go within by turning your attention to your heart and affirm that you are releasing the false identity and want only the truth of yourself, releasing al beliefs of what you are, should or shouldn’t be and maintain that awareness for as long as you can. In doing this the higher spirit self, the part of your mind that knows it’s oneness with source, will not fail to answer. As these false identities are cleared from your mind, by your decision that this be so, the light of God well dawn on you and you will absolutely know that there is nothing to fear. You will know that By giving up your false identity you are gaining ALL-God, and return to peace. Stay firm in your commitment to this truth, for truth is the only worthy goal as it is all there is."
